Netmatters, one of East Anglia’s leading technology companies, has been shortlisted for the Norwich and Norfolk Eco Awards 2018 in the Eco Small/Medium Business category.
The company are to be highly commended for their Eco efforts with the news that they have made the final two! More companies than ever made submissions for this year's awards and with quality entries across the board, this becomes even more of an achievement for the business. The judging panel are to announce the winners of this award on Tuesday 20th March.
The annual awards aim to recognise and celebrate local businesses, projects and schemes that go above and beyond to ensure they have a strong ecological or environmentally-friendly ethos; benefiting the company and local community alike.
Established in 2008, Netmatters offer a range of technology-based services to businesses throughout the UK, including; digital marketing, website design and software development, telecoms and IT support. Due to the nature of the sectors operated in, a substantial amount of energy is typically required to ensure the business – and that of their clients – is maintained and stays up and running 365 days a year.
To achieve this, over the past decade the company have continued to fine-tune and enhance their processes to benefit the environment; from implementing a paperless office policy in 2008, resulting in the reduction of paper waste by up to 98%, to installing LED lighting throughout the office, reducing electricity consumption by up to 10.6p/kWh. This saving is the equivalent of powering a 40” HD TV for 72 hours straight!
They’ve continued to make significant strides to ensure they are as environmentally-minded as possible, with future plans to attach solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to their premises in order to power the majority of their electrical use.
Managing Director, James Gulliver said of the shortlist;
“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. Being recognised for our eco-values and the sustainability principles that lie at the core of our business, is validation in itself and, hopefully, our actions encourage other local businesses to follow suit in being conscious of their environmental impact.”
The business are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this year’s awards, recognising them as one of the region’s most eco-minded companies.
