The Green Team Reducing Our Carbon Footprint - Part 2

Back in November 2021 we documented our fantastic Ecologi milestones, and we are happy to report that we have an update on this with further environmental wins to share.
At Netmatters we are passionate about the work we do alongside the Ecologi programme to minimise our carbon footprint. On a monthly basis we offset a proportion of the carbon we produce by planting trees through Ecologi into our virtual forest. We can now proudly say we have made a year’s worth of climate impact and have reached our milestone of 5000 trees planted!
The team at Ecologi plant trees in the real world on our behalf, which helps to reduce atmospheric CO2 levels around the world. Some of the projects that we have been able to support alongside the tree planting include:
• Small-scale onshore wind projects in India.
• Producing electricity from solar energy in Vietnam.
• Protecting old-growth rainforest in Peru.
• Protecting lowland peat forest in Indonesia.
• Producing energy from waste rice husks in India.
• Cleaner cookstoves in Zambia and Ghana.
• Converting landfill gas to energy in Northern Turkey.
• Geothermal power production in West Java, Indonesia.
The Ecologi platform provides a visual understanding of the scope of your forest. You can see details of all of the projects that we have supported on our profile here. We are incredibly happy with the accomplishments we have achieved in supporting our environment:
Signing up for Ecologi is simple and easy – and is an opportunity for every business and individual to do their part to help offset their carbon emissions. You can sign up through our profile to start your own forest, once you’re all set up Ecologi will then plant an additional 30 trees in both your forest and ours!
